Initial Project Advisors
Juanita Brown
Juanita Brown, the founder
of Whole Systems Associates, collaborates as a thinking
partner and design advisor to create and host forums for
constructive dialogue on critical organizational and
societal issues. With her partner David Isaacs, Juanita
is the co-originator of the World Café, an innovative
approach to large group dialogue which is rapidly
spreading throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin
America, Africa, and the Pacific Rim. The World Café is
being used in a growing number of community, corporate,
govern-mental, health, educational, NGO and church
settings to access a higher collective intelligence in
situations of entrenched conflict.
Juanita served as a Senior
Affiliate
at the MIT Sloan School's Organizational Learning Center
where she participated as a member of the Core Team of
the Center's Dialogue Project, one of the early research
initiatives in this field. She has also served as an
Associate with the Norwegian Center for Leadership
Development, a Research Affiliate with the Institute for
the Future and as program faculty at the John F. Kennedy
University School of Management, the California
Institute of Integral Studies, Columbia University, and
the University of Monterrey, Mexico. She is a Fellow of
the World Business Academy and has been honored in the
World's Who's Who of Business and Professional Women.
David Isaacs
David
is President of Clearing Communications, an
organizational and communications strategy company
working with corporate leaders in the U.S. and abroad.
David was a co-convener of
the MIT Organizational Learning Center's Strategic
Dialogue on Large Scale Systems Change in collaboration
with an Intel executive, and has worked with a wide
range of clients including Chevron, Cargill, Hewlett
Packard, Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS), Silicon
Graphics (SGI), and Lego (Denmark).
David has served as guest
faculty
for innovative learning programs with the University of
Texas Business School (Executive MBA), the California
Institute of Integral Studies (Leadership Coaching), and
the
Kaos Pilots University (Denmark/USA).
Nancy Marguiles
In workshops tailored to
meet client needs, Nancy leads designs and leads
strategic planning, learning and leadership programs for
executives and educators. She also teaches the visual
recording technique that she invented, Mindscaping.
Nancy collaborates with
Juanita Brown, co-creator of The World Café, Meg
Wheatley, author of Leadership and the New Science
and Fritjof Capra, author of The Web of life. Her
clients include Hewlett-Packard, Xerox and 3M and
Google. She has also worked with President Clinton and
the Cabinet, the Dalai Lama and facilitated workshops in
Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey,
South Africa and India. She has authored several books
including Mapping Inner Space and Visual
Thinking.
Charles
Betterton
Charles
has been helping individuals, organizations
and communities discover
and manifest more of their ultimate destiny for over
thirty years by fostering personal, organizational
and community development, empowerment and
transformation. He has a Masters in Community Economic
Development (CED)
from Southern New Hampshire University.
Charles is also certified as an Economic
Development Finance Professional by the National
Development Council.
Charles
has over thirty years
of management experience in government, community and
economic development, business and nonprofit
organizations including twelve years with HUD (U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development).
He
has produced major events for personal, professional and
community development for up to 1,800 people featuring
world class trainers such as Dr. Norman Vincent Peale,
Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Mark Victor Hansen, Bonnie St.
John, Brian Tracy and others.
Charles
is currently launching Ultimate Destiny, a marketing and
distribution company he co-founded to provide expanded
access to resources for personal, professional and
community development. He is a member of the World
Business Academy, Social Venture Network, Heart Math,
Institute Of Noetic Sciences, The Love Center, Spirit
In Business, Humanity Unites Brilliance, etc.
Marilyn Nyborg
Marilyn has been a spiritual
activist for over 40 years (She says she started VERY
young!) Socially, politically and spiritually working
for that which enhances all life, that which empowers
women and gives voice to all diversity.
The last 30 years Marilyn
has done personal coaching, retreats, done public
speaking, hosted and run a variety of workshops. In
addition she created a newsletter called Seeing the
World Through Women's Eyes for 12 years.
Marilyn is a co-founder and current president of Gather
the Women Global Matrix, a national and international
movement to bring women together to inspire, connect,
collaborate to bring positive change to our communities
and to the world. \
Their long term objective is
to bring reverence, respect, value and empowerment to
ALL things feminine, from Mother Earth, to healing the
wounds of women and honoring the feminine within men.
Marilyn is a mother of four, and grandmother of two.
She has owned and managed a technical recruiting firm
in the bay area and the past 20 years has telecommuted
to Silicon Valley. She is also a member of Humanity
Unites Brilliance (HubHub.org) Together with my partner
of 27 years, I live in Grass Valley California.
